Originally from Oklahoma, Jeremy Parr is now living and working as an actor and percussionist in Los Angeles. He holds music degrees from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma City University. After graduate school, Jeremy worked as a high school band director in Moore, Oklahoma for seven years. He was responsible for coordinating the percussion programs for three schools, conducting a high school symphonic band in the spring, assisting with jazz studies, and team teaching a 170 member marching band in the fall. Somewhere in those seven years, Jeremy started taking improv comedy classes. Eventually, he had a successful career as a film actor in the Oklahoma and Texas markets. After he resigned from public school teaching in 2016, Jeremy focused on his acting career while being a working percussionist. Jeremy was fortunate to perform with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Smith Symphony, Oklahoma Composer’s Orchestra, and many other groups. He is also a founding member of the Great Plains Percussion Group; a professional percussion collective that has performed throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. Like other millennials, Jeremy is also a co-creator/co-host of a podcast. Thunder Moneyball Podcast is an NBA centric podcast focusing on Jeremy’s beloved Oklahoma City Thunder. As an actor, Jeremy has roles in four feature films that are slated for release in 2019. Jeremy loves his wife Julie, and their two dogs Carly and Simon very much.
