Johnny Fujikawa is a student of both the martial arts and Kaizen. From martial arts, you learn discipline, focus, and self-confidence. From Kaizen, you learn big success can come from small steps.
Johnny Fujikawa fights through the stereotypes of Asian actors in Hollywood. He can do more than portray cooks, drivers, or the all too familiar quiet Asian guy that knows martial arts. He grew up idolizing the greats: Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Sonny Chiba, to name a few. He realized there is a need for more positive Asian role models in Hollywood.
As he was growing up, his father trained in Kenpo Karate and Jeet Kune Do. Johnny achieved his 1st-degree black belt in Kenpo at the age of 20. He has since continued his path not only in Karate but Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.
There is a need for actors with extensive experience in martial arts to play characters in the action-packed movies he enjoys. Johnny brings that unique quality to filmmaking.
Johnny strives to provide an honest depiction of characters. He understands the importance of always improving his craft, be it martial arts or acting. He is regularly found in classes or dojos throughout LA.
Johnny is a student of movement. He has familiarized himself with dance, stage combat, and acrobatics. He specializes in fight choreography as well on onscreen gun tactics and disarmament.
He currently resides and works in Los Angeles.
