Just when things are rolling along smoothly, life gets in the way.
Three radio shows are behind me. I am blogging. I just finished an awesome week with my mastermind group.
Then I catch a cold. It’s affecting my voice.
Wait a minute. I’m on a roll. This can’t happen to me!
Walt 2.0 does … not … get … sick.
WRONG!
But I have a radio show tomorrow!
I wonder if I should go to the doctor?
Great idea.
No, dumb idea. I have a cold. The common cold. There is no cure.
I re-read the Walt 2.0 blog. Nothing in there about being a wimp. I have to tough it out. “It’s only a cold”, said no one who is actually having the cold.
But wait. Walt 1.0 knew how to play hurt. Moderate knee injuries never kept me off the baskeball court or the baseball field. A paper cut never kept me out of the office.
In show business, they say “The show must go on.” And I am now in show business.
The good news is, I may end up with that Barry White “Love to Love You Baby” baritone.
The bad news is, it wouldn’t be permanent.
The better news is my guest, Maurice DiMino, is a professional speaker. I can ask the shortest questions in radio show history, and he can answer at length. Great length. Brilliant!
I can just hear my previous two guests, Darren Held and Eno Inwek thinking, “Now he has a sketchy voice. He wouldn’t shut up, when I was his guest.”
To Darren and Eno, I say, “Timing is everything!”
Listen in tomorrow at 11am PT to see if
- I will be miraculously cured
- I will do my best Barry White imitation
- I will be so hoarse that the Sicilian Mentor, Maurice DiMino, will ride in on his white horse and save the day.
