In December, I attended a retirement party for a former co-worker. I asked her, “What are your plans for retirement?” She immediately said, “I have a few things I want to do, but I am not going to be crazy busy, like you!”
My new motto is “Living the Dream!” And when you live your dreams and are busy doing things you are passionate about, it is nothing like being busy working for an employer.
This week, in particular, is a big week.
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – workout with my personal trainer Jesika Fleming
- Monday night – begin taking acting classes, to fill a gap in my skills and help me become a Groundling.
- Tuesday night – support friend Randy Gold as he launches his Pub Trivia Host career
- Thurday day – host my radio show, Stand Up and Speak Up, with guest Audra Erwin
- Thursday night – deliver my first keynote presentation to the Los Angeles Chapter of PMI (the Project Management Institute); the premise of the speech is — presenting with confidence at any age
- Friday – meet with my accountant about my tax returns
- Sunday – Attend my monthly StoryMasters Toastmasters meeting
The week is filled with a couple of major firsts, on-going self-improvement and supporting a friend.
All of it, “Living the Dream”.
Except that tax return thing … without that, I might have thought I died and went to heaven!
